Svalbard Seed Shipment

The Svalbard Global Seed Vault put out more news this week(You'll have to translate from Norwegian if you don't speak/read that language.)  They just received more than 25,000 seed samples from 17 more countries, bringing the total to 750,000.  A roughly translated quote:
"I am very pleased with the large turnout that vault has gotten. The seeds that are frozen in the mountains of Svalbard, can help to adapt our crops to changing climatic conditions and be an important key to global food security," says Minister of Agriculture and Food Trygve Slagsvold Vedum.

It’s good that the seed samples were sent right on time. It’s amazing that a huge cargo like that can affect a certain community’s climate condition, and in a positive way. I’m pretty confident that these samples can also contribute to the population’s food supply. Great job to everyone who are involved!
